LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth refrigerators are slim and offer plenty of space. Counter-depth refrigerators are cheaper than standard-depth French-door fridges, and they can eliminate the requirement for an under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S) that offers the capacity of a standard refrigerator with an elegant and contemporary design, isn't any different. It also features an internal dispenser that provides easy access to drinking water.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins offer plenty of space and the top shelf can fold down to create a half depth shelf that can accommodate larger items. The bottom of the refrigerator is stocked with crisper drawers, while the full width deli drawer is ideal for meat and fresh produce.
The refrigerator has a recessed freezer on the back wall. This helps save space and allows you to store more ice bags. The refrigerator is equipped with a door-cooling system, which uses vents in the freezer and fridge doors to let cold air enter the refrigerator. It prevents hot spots and helps keep temperatures more consistent throughout the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator stood out during our tests. It provides plenty of space to provide for a family, however, we found a few annoying flaws. First, the freezer drawers don't remain as cold as we would like. The temperature of the middle drawer was 41° during our highest use test, which is enough to freeze ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of your freezer remained at about 36 degrees.
The doors of refrigerators also have sunken handles that are difficult for people with shorter arms to close. It may seem trivial however, we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators to make them easier to open and shut.
This fridge is expensive but it's worth it for those who want a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this fridge to those looking to upgrade their existing refrigerator or for those who are building a new home and want to have a seamless design in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French door fridge called the RF23M8090SG is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also did well in our cooling test, however we don't like the plastic handles or the flimsy crisper bins.
One thing that makes the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line that lets you personalize your fridge using removable color panels that can be swapped out when you're tired of the current ones. There are 11 colors to choose from that range from pastels to more bright colors. There are four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be personalized with text or photos, making the fridge a more personal touch point that will match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
The LED lighting can be changed to a different hue, which is a great feature. And the refrigerator's interior has a smart finish that helps reduce smudges and makes cleaning a breeze. The only real flaws of the RF23M8090SG is its crowded beverage center, as well as an inclination to access the door-indoor feature that houses a water dispenser and a pitcher. You have to feel for an opening on the underside of the door halfway across, and when you've done that you will be able to open an additional door inside the fridge that contains the docking station for the pitcher as well as the water dispenser, and two shelves for drinks.

The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to accommodate a large amount of frozen foods and comes with an impressive slide-out drawer that allows you to get the food you're looking for without opening the whole compartment. The freezer also features an open-air compartment that can be used to store small items as well as a large capacity drawer for storage to store bulkier frozen foods. The drawer can be locked using an access code to keep intruders out, and it includes an attractive LED light so you can see what's inside at an instant. The freezer can also monitor energy usage and help you cut your power bill with the SmartThings with smart-enabled Energy mode.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators are a great addition to any kitchen. They look clean and are a great fit for all sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are a great option if you're looking for this design, but without the added height. We've tested many of them, and this particular Frigidaire model has earned a high score in our ratings for its affordable price and thoughtful features such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
However, it also has a couple of nagging issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and can be uncomfortable warm in the fridge's interior shelving. Our heat maps show how temperature fluctuates minute-by-minute. The orange area on the top right, representing the butter bin, has been particularly warm throughout our testing period. It may not appear to be a problem at first however, the fridge is spending the majority of its time at 32 degrees.
It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which may be important for certain buyers. The issue is that it's just not a particularly great refrigerator, and the absence of top-of-the-line features and robust construction make it hard to recommend over better options in this price range.
This Frigidaire fridge is like the stainless steel version you may see in the local store for appliances. It's a safe option with a polished finish that looks nice and is resistant to smudges, but it doesn't stand out or set itself apart from competitors that have more features and more affordable.
If you're seeking a counter-depth French door fridge, but don't want spend a lot of money, the FGHC2331PF could be worth looking into. It's got enough storage to meet the needs of most families and does an excellent job at keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it won't even come close to costing the same amount as our top-rated models do.
